Seagrass-Watch Description: Seagrass-Watch is an Australia-based project that engages volunteers worldwide to monitor seagrass, an important indicator of coastal ecosystem health. At the same time the program aims to raise awareness on seagrass ecosystems.

The project has a simple philosophy of involving those who are concerned, and involves collaboration/partnerships between scientists, community and data users (environment management agencies).

The project operates across 259 sites in 17 countries, involving participants in collecting quantitative data on seagrasses and associated fauna using simple and scientifically rigorous techniques. At least one person at each monitoring event must have completed Seagrass-Watch training or possess relevant scientific qualifications.
