Description: This application focuses on the priority area maternal health and the ‘First 2000 days’. We will implement and evaluate a continuity of midwife care model for socially disadvantaged and vulnerable pregnant women. Pregnancy and birth provide a critical window for intervening to improve short- and long-term health and wellbeing for women and their children, and even more so for women already experiencing vulnerability at the beginning of pregnancy, yet there is a lack of evidence to guide preventative interventions.
